Omerta
In the library of a deceased Bruges resident, Ostend priest Gilles Perrier finds a medallion and intriguing documents. These turn out to be linked to the "missing" file on Bruges priest Lodewijk Van Haecke, in which he was accused of participating in satanic rituals. The deeper Perrier delves into the file, the more he realizes that Van Haecke was much more than a mischievous chaplain.
My name is Karmozijn
The story of "My Name Is Crimson" unfolds over twelve winter days in Istanbul in 1591. When her husband still hasn't returned from war after four years, the beautiful Seküre, mother of two sons, sets out to find a new husband. Seküre's father has received a secret commission from the Ottoman sultan. One by one, he summons court miniature painters. These master painters collaborate on a book for the sultan, under the supervision of Seküre's father. They create drawings in a Western style. It is an extremely controversial commission, one that flies in the face of prevailing opinions.
These and hundreds of other gems are waiting to be discovered in our bookcases!
