Which coffee goes best with your book? ☕📚

We kicked off autumn with sunshine and summer temperatures. But the real autumn is just around the corner. Mushrooms are popping up everywhere — as mushrooms are naturally inclined to do, the evenings are getting darker earlier and the blankets are ready for cosy evenings on the sofa.
For me, autumn is the season par excellence — alongside winter, spring and summer, of course — for reading. Some books get devoured in one sitting (which explains the eye bags), while others spend months on the coffee table, waiting to be enjoyed in those quiet little moments.
Whatever kind of books you prefer, a good cup of coffee simply belongs by your side. So we went looking for the best book-and-coffee combinations.
☕ A thrilling thriller? Go for a bold espresso
A thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat calls for a coffee with character. An intense espresso, naturally. Small, strong and with enough kick to keep you awake until you finally find out whodunnit.
Perfect for those books that make you think: “Just one more chapter…” — and suddenly it’s midnight. Or later.
💕 A romantic story? Cappuccino, please
A romantic book is best enjoyed with something soft and comforting on the side. A creamy cappuccino is the perfect match.
Ideal for a slow Sunday afternoon, a blanket within reach and a story you can completely lose yourself in.
🌿 Feel-good fiction? Time for a flat white
A feel-good book should, above all, feel good. And for us, that calls for a smooth, well-balanced flat white.
Not too heavy, not too strong, but just enough to give your reading moment that little something extra.
🕵️ A mystery? Get the French press ready
A good mystery deserves to be savoured slowly. Much like a French press.
It takes a little patience, but the reward is a rich and full-bodied coffee. Perfect for sipping slowly while trying to piece together all the clues in your book.
🌧️ A rainy reading day? Something warm and comforting
Rain tapping against the window, a good book and a big mug of coffee. Sometimes, that’s all we need.
On days like these, we reach for a latte: wonderfully smooth, creamy and, above all, cosy. The kind of coffee that makes you want to stay curled up with your book just a little longer.
Our coffee? We get it from La-Thé
We’re happy to work with La-Thé, our trusted coffee partner. They carefully select their coffees and share our love for quality and a great product.
Because, just like with books, we think it’s important to know where something comes from and the people behind it.
At Paper & Beans, we don’t just want to serve you coffee. We want it to become part of your reading experience. A good coffee may not make a story better — but it can certainly make you enjoy it even more.
And you?
What’s your favourite combination?
Come by Paper & Beans, pick a book, order a coffee and enjoy your very own perfect pairing.
